Top 7 Reasons Why Affiliate Marketers Fail

Do you know how many affiliate marketers fail to make money with their affiliate marketing business?
Sadly the amount of affiliate marketers that fail is close to 99%

That means only about 1% of affiliate marketers are successful at making money online.
So, why do most affiliate marketers fail?
There are many possible reasons that most people fall short to ever make money online but here are Ours:

Top 7 Reasons Why Affiliate Marketers Fail

1. Failure To Take Action

If you do not take away anything else from this posting, take away this. In order for you to be successful you must “TAKE ACTION”, I am not saying run out and take action by buying a bunch of training products, no, pick one and follow it to the end and then take action on what you have learned, put the techniques being taught to work for you.

So many people know what they need to do to make money online but either fear of failure or being lazy and procrastinating is preventing them from taking action to achieve the results they desire.

2. Not Treating Online Marketing As A Business.

You must create a plan, set goals with deadlines and steps needed to achieve those goals. You should not just choose to open a typical brick and morter retail store one day and then open it the next, no you would sit down and develop a business plan and see it through, you should do the exact for your online business. There will be changes made along the way but having a plan with goals will keep you on track and concentrated.

3. Failure to Build a List

Many on line marketers build great web sites and have very popular blogs but hardly ever take the time to build a list of subscribers, who they can then build a relationship with and eventually turn into repeat customers.

The old saying in online marketing still holds true, the money is in the list. Start from day one building your list and build a relationship with your subscribers. Yes, you can be very successful without a list, but it sure makes it a lot easier when you do have one.

4. Failure To Follow Basic SEO Techniques

You sure can build a great website or blog with great content, but if no-one is browsing your site it really would not matter much and you will never make profits from your site if no-one stops by. You must, must, must follow at least simple seo practices if you want to have your website rank high in the search engines and then constantly be building backlinks to your site from high page ranked sites. This is very important if your goal is attract organic traffic from the search engines.

How many times have you read a great affiliate marketing article or blog post and then looked at the title and it didnt include the targeted keyword, sure this doesn’t seem that important, but it is the simple things that will make or break you in this business, create seo checklist and make sure it is being followed for every page, post, article, tweet you make.

5. Information Overload

As a new affiliate marketer, it is so easy to run out and try to get as much information as you can to hopefully speed up the process to make money, but what usually happens is just the opposite. You rush out and find all these people giving away free ebooks, free training if you sign up to their email list, then you get bombarded with a ton of information and different techniques and techniques to try, you want to try them all but in doing so you end up jumping from one method to the next without ever really finishing one.

Pick your training course, do not add your email to anyone’s email list except the person doing the training, stay focused on the training, see it through and take action on what you have learned when you complete the course.

6. Time Management

How many times have you been sitting there at your computer and notice you have been sitting there for several hours and you have not done anything or tried building your business. It happens, this is the internet afterall and getting distracted and throwing away your whole day can happen if you are not creating a plan and setting goals for every day.

7. Failure to Find Your Motivation

Why are you trying to make money online? Could it be to provide more for yourself, provide a better standard for your family, to quit your job, to suppliment your retirement, or just for some extra income.

It really doesn’t matter what your reason is for trying to make money online, but whatever it is should be motivating you to give it your all and keep you on track.

A good tip to encourage you to stay focused is to write down your reasons for starting up an on line business and post them next to your computer where you will see them day by day. If it is family, post a picture of your family, saving for a new car, put up a picture of the car you want, you get the idea.

Some great pointers there. Affiliate marketing is tricky at best but your points, particularly #7makes a lot of sense. If you are not motivated enough, you are wasting your time.
